Mr. Sumit Dhody

Mr.Sumit Dhody is a seasoned industry leader and Mechanical Engineer from the Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, with over three decades of professional experience in copper metallurgy and advanced manufacturing technologies.

He began his journey with Mipalloy in January 1996, bringing a strong technical foundation and a vision for operational excellence. His leadership potential and deep process knowledge saw him rise to the position of Vice President – Operations in 2003, where he played a pivotal role in modernizing manufacturing systems, expanding product capabilities, and driving efficiency across all operational divisions.

In January 2024, Mr. Dhody assumed the role of Managing Director of Mipalloy Private Limited, marking a new era of strategic growth, technological innovation, and global collaboration for the company. Under his stewardship, Mipalloy has continued to evolve into a globally respected manufacturer of high-conductivity copper alloys and specialized metallurgical solutions.

As a hands-on leader, Mr. Dhody possesses extensive expertise in copper and copper alloy manufacturing processes, including melting, hot and cold forging, heat treatment, welding, and precision machining . His comprehensive understanding of materials science and process optimization has been instrumental in ensuring Mipalloy’s sustained reputation for precision and quality.

In addition to his role at Mipalloy Private Limited, Mr. Dhody serves as President of Mipalloy Nomura Plating Company LLP, a prominent Indo-Japanese joint venture, where he leads a high-performance team that includes expert Japanese engineers. His leadership emphasizes cross-cultural collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

His long-standing three-decade association with Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Japan, has provided him with deep insights into Japanese management systems, Kaizen practices, and global standards of manufacturing excellence.

Mr. Dhody is also a member of the Board of Management of the Indian Copper Development Centre, where he actively contributes to the advancement and knowledge-sharing within India’s non-ferrous metals industry.
